Stopping your dog from barking can sometimes be a difficult thing to do, barking is the natural way in which dogs use to communicate and use as a warning mechanism for both other dogs and humans alike. A static dog bark collar is a small device attached to a collar that is activated by the vibration of the vocal box of the dog. The dog bark collar is placed tightly around the dogs neck and each time the dog barks a static electric pulse is delivered to the dog. This small shock distracts the dog from barking and inturn the dog recognizes each time it barks it receives a shock. Over time the dog learns not to bark any more because it then believes it will receive a shock if it does. Although not considered entirely humane it is a very effective way if you follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Ultra sonic dog bark control collars
A ultra sonic dog bark control collar is some what a little more sophisticated as this device emits a ultra sonic tone each time a dog barks, this tone is so highly pitched is distracts the dog from barking any further. An ultra sonic dog bark collar would have to be the most humane way in which to control the barking of your dog.
Citronella dog bark collar
This type of collar once attached to the neck of the dog will emit a fine citronella spray up onto the nose of the dog should it start barking. Like the other dog bark collars it is activated by the vibrations of the vocal box of the dog when it barks. This method is very humane however you will need to assess the long term costs of the replacement sprays.
Which dog bark collar should you use?
You must choose a dog bark collar that not only fits the size of your dog but also that fits best for you as the owner of the dog. Your dog bark collar should be used in accordance with the instructions and are an effective way to stop the consistent barking of your beloved pet.
